A newborn brings much excitement and joy to your home, but can also bring your finely tuned family schedule grinding to a halt. Once your new baby is home, cooking may fall to the bottom of the list of priorities. There are some things you can do to help you and your family ease into the new timetable you will have once your newest member has arrived.
Try to be as prepared as possible before your baby is born. Start about two weeks before your due date and plan out meals with your spouse or another family member. Consider meals such as casseroles which can be easily frozen and used whenever needed. Most items can be stored in the freezer for at least a month if you cover them and contain them such that they do not get freezer burn. If you plan ahead, try to put these meals in microwave safe containers so you can reheat them even faster than a standard oven.
